Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Asterwright is provided by AI Asterion (Pty) Ltd, a private company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa ("AI Asterion", "we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between us and the business or person who subscribes ("you"). If you accept them on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

2. The service

Asterwright is an online studio that produces marketing material — documents, presentation decks, specifications and video — in your brand, using artificial-intelligence models together with your own brand assets and product information. What each plan includes is described on our pricing section at the time you subscribe.

3. Your account

• Each person signs in with their own login. Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens in your workspace under your logins.
• The person who subscribes is the workspace owner and is the only one who can buy, change or cancel the plan. Your plan sets how many people (seats) can use the workspace.
• Give us accurate details and keep your email address current — it is where we send sign-in links, receipts and notices about your subscription.

4. Plans, credits & billing

Subscriptions

• Plans are billed monthly in advance in South African rand, by card, through our payment provider Paystack. Prices shown include VAT.
• Your first payment is taken when you subscribe. After that, the same amount is charged on the same day each month until you cancel. (If you subscribe on the 29th, 30th or 31st, later charges fall on the 28th.)
• If a renewal payment fails, Paystack will retry it. If it keeps failing we may pause the workspace until the payment is made.
• We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before changing the price of your plan. The new price applies from your first billing date after the notice period.

Credits

• Your plan adds its monthly allowance of credits to your workspace each time it renews. You can buy top-up packs at any time. One credit is priced at R1.
• Asterwright shows the credit price of an action before you run it. Credits are reserved when an action starts and charged when it finishes. If an action fails, the credits reserved for it are returned automatically.
• Plan credits are monthly. They are used before top-up credits. When your plan renews, any plan credits left from the previous month expire and the new month's allowance replaces them — they do not carry over. If your plan ends, its credits remain usable until the end of the last month you paid for, then expire.
• Top-up credits never expire while your workspace is open, including after your plan ends.
• Credits held for an action that is still running are never expired out from under it; the action finishes and is charged normally.
• Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or transferred to another workspace.

Changing plan

When you move to a different plan, the new plan starts immediately and is charged in full that day, and its monthly allowance is added straight away; your previous plan's billing stops. There is no pro-rata credit for the unused part of the previous month — the plan credits it gave you remain usable until your next renewal.

5. Cancelling & refunds

• You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancelling stops all future charges. Your workspace and library stay available to you; your plan credits remain usable until the end of the month you have paid for, and your top-up credits do not expire.
• First-week refund. If you cancel within 7 days of your first payment and have not spent any credits, email us and we will refund that payment in full. This is in addition to any right you have under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
• Otherwise, monthly charges are not refunded for part-months, and credits that have been used are not refundable.
• If you are charged in error — a duplicate charge, or a charge after you cancelled — we will refund it in full. Contact us at hello@aiasterion.com and we will respond within five business days. Refunds go back to the card that was charged.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act where they apply to you.

6. Your content

• What you bring stays yours — your logos, brand assets, documents, website content and instructions ("your inputs").
• What Asterwright makes for you is yours to use, edit and publish, as far as the law allows ownership of AI-assisted work, subject to the rights of anyone whose material appears in your inputs.
• You give us permission to store, copy and process your inputs and outputs only as needed to run the service for you — including sending them to the AI providers listed in section 9. We do not use your content to advertise, and we do not publish it.
• You confirm you have the right to use what you upload — in particular, other companies' logos, trademarks, photographs and documents.
• Share links let anyone who has the link view the shared item until you revoke it. Treat them like an unlisted public link.

7. AI-generated work

Asterwright uses AI models to plan, write, illustrate and narrate. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or unexpectedly similar to existing material, even when it is grounded in your own information. You are responsible for reviewing everything before you publish or rely on it — especially product claims, technical specifications, prices, legal or regulatory statements, and anything about other people or companies.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use Asterwright to:

• create unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit or deceptive material, or material that infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
• impersonate a person or organisation, or present material as coming from a brand you are not authorised to represent;
• make false or misleading claims about products, services or competitors;
• break, probe or overload the service, get around credit pricing or limits, or access another customer's workspace; or
• resell the service, or share logins beyond your plan's seats.

We may suspend a workspace that breaks these rules or puts the service or other customers at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

9. Your data & privacy

We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we hold

• Account details: names and work email addresses of the people in your workspace.
• Your inputs and outputs (section 6), your brand settings, and a record of credit use.
• Payment records: what you bought and when. Card numbers never reach us — Paystack handles them. We keep only the card's brand, last four digits, expiry date and a reusable token from Paystack so that renewals and top-ups can be charged.
• Technical data such as IP addresses, used for security and to prevent abuse.

Who processes it for us

• AI providers — Anthropic (writing and planning), OpenAI (images and narration) and fal (video and image generation) — receive the parts of your inputs needed to produce each piece of work.
• Paystack processes payments. Amazon Web Services hosts the service. Email is delivered through Resend.

Some of these providers process data outside South Africa, including in the United States. We use providers bound by agreements that protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by emailing privacy@aiasterion.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

When a workspace is closed, we delete its content within 90 days, except records we must keep by law (such as payment and tax records).

10. Availability & changes

We work to keep Asterwright available and your work safe, but we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we recommend you keep copies of finished files you rely on. We improve Asterwright continually and may change features; if we remove something central to your plan, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.

We may update these terms. We will email you at least 30 days before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use Asterwright after that date means you accept the updated terms; if you don't, you can cancel before it.

11. Liability

As far as the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost business opportunities; and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event that gave rise to it. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.

12. Ending the agreement

You can end this agreement by cancelling your plan and asking us to close your workspace. We can end it with 30 days' notice, or immediately if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If we end it without cause, we will refund the unused part of any month you have paid for.

13. Law & disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. If something goes wrong, please contact us first — most problems are quickly fixed. Disputes that cannot be resolved between us will be decided by the South African courts.
